Dioscorea Discolor

Sale Price: €60.00 Original Price: €70.00

Dioscorea discolor is a tuberous climbing vine of the yam family (Dioscoreaceae) native to tropical South America, specifically Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru. This indoor plant is known for its slender twining stems and heart-shaped, velvety leaves with a pale green to silvery midrib on top and a rich purplish-maroon beneath.

The leaves start off dark green and progressively develop contrasting variegation with maturity, frequently resembling a magnified pixel pattern of dark, light, and silver tones.

This plant is tuberous, with aerial stems that can grow to many metres inside if maintained. In its natural environment, it produces little, fragrant white flowers in hanging panicles; however, blossoming is uncommon indoors.
